Who doesn’t have a tweet to spare or share for a good cause? Just recently, getting my daily dose of Greenpeace online news, I noticed the “donate 1 tweet a day” link on the organizations website. This link led me to the Greenpeace space on the Justcoz.org website, an online relay system that lets you donate tweets to help raise awareness about issues that matter to you. The website lists all the causes that you can donate tweets to. There is also a search box to find causes based on keywords or particular search terms. If you have a cause…

Twitter wants to make a change and yesterday marked the beginning of that change. Between September 15th and 25th, you can take part in the big TwitChange auction event. Users get to bid on their favorite celebrities. Winners of the auction will be followed by their celebrity choice, have a tweet of theirs retweeted by the celebrity, and may even be mentioned by the celebrity in their own special tweet! Oh yes, and there is more. Different celebrities are also offering some extra goodies to their winning package, though you’ll have to check their personal twitter pages to find out…

Do you remember the Friend A Gorilla program that was started last year? No? Well, it allowed people to friend and follow the every day lives of mountain gorillas via Twitter. Now, toy giant Mattel is taking up the reigns, except their latest project is going straight to the dogs. Wildlife & Flora, Sep 29th, 2009,
Have you ever wanted to friend or follow a gorilla? Well, now you can! Thanks to the launch of friendagorilla.org, people will be able to monitor the everyday lives of one of the 720 remaining mountain gorillas online, by viewing videos, pictures and rangers’ blogs through Twitter, Facebook and other sites. Satellite tracking is another key feature that will also be available to users. “By paying one dollar to Friend a Gorilla, everybody contributes to the conservation of this species,” said Moses Mapesa Wafula, head of the UWA (Uganda Wildlife Authority). Hollywood celebrities are even getting involved with this campaign,…
